The title of this article should be the desire of all followers of the G-d of Creation. To know our Father is to love Him and obey whatever He commands of us. The Messiah is the highest pinnacle of obedience and the complete picture of unity with the Creator G-d. So, how can we "attain the power and unity of Messiah"?
Firstly we must examine the source of His great power and unity and this article is not designed to be an exhaustive discussion on this topic but simply a few thoughts about it. My opinion is that Mashiach's power comes from his complete nullification of His will to that of the Father's. "not my will but thine be done". Over and over we see the Mashiach and the prototypes in the Tanakh submitting their wills to those of the Creator. Moshe was the most humble of all humans because of his nullification of will. This is the secret of Mashiach. A servant delivering a message for his King, voids out his own will to that of his Sender. This is the role of the obedient servant. When you see "that" servant, you see his King. Why? because of complete nullification of his own personal will.
The prayer of Mashiach in John 17 has this at the heart of it's essence. That His followers would nullify/cancel/make void their wills to that of the Father in heaven. "Your kingdom come, Your will be done".
May we, with the help of HaShem, nullify our wills to that of the Masters.
